New comprehensive Spine Center for back pain relief opens
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Mayo Clinic Health System has opened a new Spine Center with convenient locations in Barron, Eau Claire, Menomonie and Osseo, Wisconsin. The Spine Center provides comprehensive care for back pain, bringing together experts in Neurosurgery, Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Services to ensure the best care for people facing spine-related conditions.
"Nearly 80% of adults experience some form of back pain in their lifetime," says Melissa Kenevan, M.D., a pain medicine physician. "Our spine team is focused on a worry-free experience, not only on treating your back pain, but also providing you a smooth, clear care journey so you can focus on your recovery."
For people who are experiencing acute back pain and are not sure where to start, the Spine Center provides a full spectrum of treatment options, from noninvasive treatments, including therapeutic exercises or injections, to surgical procedures. Whether people are dealing with pulled muscles or ligament tears, bone fractures or pinched nerves, the Mayo Clinic Health System spine team has the expertise needed to create a personalized treatment plan specifically designed for them. Patients will see the right specialists at the right time and be guided through any diagnostics or tests they may need along the way.
"When back pain strikes, your normal routine is interrupted, and everyday activities become uncomfortable or even unbearable," Dr. Kenevan says. "Pain shouldn't be the focus of your life, and it doesn't have to be. Our spine team is dedicated to finding the quickest and most cost-effective route to get you back to a pain-free life."
