Franciscan Healthcare School of Anesthesia in La Crosse Admission Requirements
Prerequisites
Students who wish to apply for admission to the Franciscan Healthcare School of Anesthesia in La Crosse must meet these requirements without regard to gender, age, race, creed, color, or national origin:
- Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree. Degree must be conferred prior to being admitted into the program
- Be eligible for a registered nurse (R.N.) license by the Wisconsin Department of Nursing
- Have 18 months (24 months is preferred), at an FTE of at least 0.75, of nursing experience in critical care or intensive care setting, such as ICU, CCU, SICU, PICU, NICU
- Be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and have a minimum of credits for:
- Microbiology — two credits
- Anatomy or physiology — four credits
- Chemistry or physics — four credits
- Statistics — two credits; an advanced placement (AP) score ≥3 will meet our admission requirements
- Have an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Critical care experience and minimum credits in above courses must be completed by the application deadline.
Admission procedure
Please visit the University of Wisconsin La Crosse website to apply to the program. Graduate Record Exam scores are no longer required to apply for our program.
Applications for the program are accepted from June 1–Aug. 1.
Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Official transcripts must be submitted and received by University of Wisconsin-La Crosse by the August 1 deadline. Applicants will be screened and eligible candidates will be invited to appear for a personal interview before the Franciscan Healthcare School of Anesthesia in La Crosse admissions committee in late October or early November. After acceptance, students will complete the online application for Viterbo University, Doctorate in Nursing Practice CRNA-Track program.
