In addition, you'll have these support options:

    • Consulting with a primary care provider regarding weight-loss medications.
    • Consulting with a bariatric surgeon.
    • Enrolling in an online program, such as the Mayo Clinic Diet.
    • Using weight management resources available on Live Well.
    • Accessing recipes.

These Weight Management programs are available to help you on your weight-loss journey:

    • Start Point
    • Lifestyle Education and Alternatives to Dieting (LEAD)
    • Live It Together

    Start Point

Start Point is an interactive group visit designed for adults interested in losing weight. During the one-time visit, participants learn about weight management options.

Start Point seeks to ensure patients are ready to lose weight and know the benefits of losing weight. Start Point also helps patients understand the different weight-loss options, along with nutritional and clinical assessment so they can identify their best pathway.

    The two-hour visit includes:

    • Group visit focused on the whys and ways for weight loss and lifestyle change
    • Individual dietitian billable visit to assess current dietary habits and identify nutritional opportunities
    • Individual healthcare professional billable visit including a basic clinical review with you, focused on the benefits of weight loss and the risks of obesity

If you have questions, email Weight Management or call us.

Lifestyle Education and Alternatives to Dieting (LEAD)

Lifestyle Education and Alternatives to Dieting, or LEAD, is a 12-week virtual lifestyle program that meets weekly to help create changes that support weight loss.

The group connects adults with others who are beginning their weight-loss journey, provides education and creates a peer group where participants can share successes and challenges. The program does not follow a specific diet, and will incorporate healthy habits and lifestyle management.

The LEAD Program includes interactive tools to connect as a group from anywhere. The tool will track your weight each week and help with goals.

The program, which is led by a Mayo Clinic Health System dietitian, covers the 12 pillars of successful lifestyle change, including weekly topics related to:

    • Behavior modification
    • Exercise
    • Mindful eating
    • Meal planning and preparation
    • Nutrition

Classes are held online, and information will be shared through Patient Online Services.

Are you ready to make a change? Are you ready to focus on weight loss? Are you ready to work on lifestyle changes? Are you willing to commit to a 12-week group program?
