Nurse Line Triage
Mayo Clinic primary care nurse triage, also known as the nurse line, offers convenient, 24/7/365 access to care from our team of registered nurses. Triage nurses can assess new or worsening symptoms, answer medical questions or determine the appropriate level of care, including self-care, in-person or video visit, or immediate medical attention.
Our goal is to help you get connected to the right care, at the right time, in the right place for your needs, often from the convenience of your preferred location.
If you're having common symptoms and not sure where to start, first consider using Check Symptoms via your patient portal. This option is available 24/7/365 to provide you the ability to independently manage your care online. It's free and available to patients who have a primary care provider at Mayo Clinic and live in Minnesota, Wisconsin or Iowa.
You'll receive a care recommendation, which may include self-care, calling the nurse line, making an in-person or video appointment, or seeking immediate medical attention.
To call the nurse line, call the number associated with your preferred location listed below. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.
Can the nurse line prescribe medications?
The nurse line cannot prescribe medications. If you need medication, the triage nurse will recommend you make an appointment, or you can message your primary care provider in the patient portal.
