Diagnosis and treatments

We specialize in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting your kidneys and developing a personalized treatment plan.

In addition to management of your kidney disease or injury, specialized treatments we provide include:

• Dialysis 
  We offer dialysis options for patients with end-stage kidney diseases and acute kidney injury, including inpatient and in-center hemodialysis and home hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
• Fluid and electrolyte management
  This is used to treat a variety of abnormalities related to kidney disease.
• Hypertension clinic
  We provide secondary and resistant hypertension evaluation and management, treatment for renal vascular hypertension — when the kidney artery narrows and leads to high blood pressure — and when patients have difficulty controlling their high blood pressure.
• Kidney biopsies
  This can help diagnose various kidney issues, including decreased kidney function and blood or protein in urine. It can also evaluate a transplanted kidney.
• Renal angiogram
  This can help evaluate the blood flow in the kidney and structural changes such as blood vessel blockages, ballooning and narrowing.
• Transplant clinic
  In close collaboration with the Transplant Center at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, we offer local pretransplant evaluation and post-transplant care. Kidney transplants are completed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
• Tunneled dialysis catheter insertion and removal
  The catheter is used for dialysis treatments.
