Through our Sports Medicine Program, licensed athletic trainers (L.A.T.) provide athletic outreach services to area high school and college athletes. They evaluate injuries sustained by athletes during school-sponsored athletic programs. This includes care of acute injuries, management of chronic injuries, rehabilitation follow-up and consultation for injury prevention.
They provide weekly consultations with student-athletes at their assigned schools when school is in session.
They provide coverage at select home games. Contact sports take priority when there are schedule conflicts. The school’s athletic director assists with prioritization of event coverage when needed.
Communication between the athlete’s coach, athletic trainer, physical therapist or physician will occur as appropriate to ensure continuity of care.
