The Center for Breast Care was accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) in 2009. The NAPBC was established to identify and recognize centers providing quality care to patients with diseases of the breast.
To be accredited, a breast center must meet or exceed quality standards established by the NAPBC. Each center accredited by the NAPBC has to go through a rigorous application process and on-site survey.
Centers that have received the NAPBC accreditation are among the leaders in the field of breast care and have demonstrated a commitment to quality.
Clinical trials
Clinical trials are studies of new, innovative cancer treatments. We have clinical trials available to patients with early and later stages of breast cancer, including chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and radiation therapy, as well as studies to help with the side effects of cancer treatment. These studies are offered locally through collaboration with Mayo Clinic and the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG), a national cooperative oncology treatment group sponsored by the National Cancer Institute.
Not all treatments, tests and services are available at all Mayo Clinic Health System locations. Check with your preferred location in advance.
