Cellphones
Cellphone use is allowed on campus, but you're asked to limit use in public spaces. Avoid video chatting and speaker phone use in public spaces.
Gifts, food and balloons
Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. To protect patients, visitors and staff with latex allergies, latex balloons are prohibited.
Photography
Photography, including cellphone and videotaping, is allowed on campus only after obtaining permission from all patients, staff and visitors being captured in the video. If the patient cannot give permission, you should obtain permission from the patient's family members and the nurse manager or nursing supervisor.
Tobacco-free
In a commitment to good health, Mayo Clinic Health System is a completely tobacco-free organization. This includes all buildings and grounds, and applies to patients, staff and visitors. The intent of a tobacco-free environment is to reduce the health risks of tobacco use, reduce the risks associated with passive smoke and reduce the risk of a fire safety hazard. No smoking areas are designated anywhere on campus. Smoking is prohibited everywhere on Mayo Clinic Health System property.
Vendors
Vendors must register in Mayo Clinic's Supplier/Vendor Management Program.
Visitor guidelines, hours and restrictions
If you are feeling ill, please visit at another time. Mayo Clinic Health System may restrict visitors, temporarily close buildings or adjust hours to protect the safety of patients and staff.
