In Urgent Care, my time with the patient is limited, so communication is very important. I believe in active listening and shared decision-making with the patient to establish the best care plan for them.
I was born and raised in the Mankato, Minnesota, area. After graduating from Mankato East High School, I received my bachelor's degree and went on to shadow nurse practitioners (NP) and physician assistants (PA) in Southern Minnesota, including Mankato and Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I have enjoyed being a preceptor to PA's and NP's during my time at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eastridge Clinic Urgent Care. I found great interest and love for the profession.
Following my PA program in 2008, I returned to Minnesota to be closer to family.
I enjoy kayaking, hiking and spending time with my family.
