I am an orthopedic surgeon with an expertise in sports medicine. I seek to use my Mayo Clinic orthopedic foundation and subspecialized sports medicine training to provide excellent, individualized care for you and other patients across southern Minnesota and beyond.
My goal is to use team- and evidence-based approaches to get you back to your desired activity, whether that’s recreational or elite-level sport. I offer a thoughtful approach to diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Treatment is a joint decision between you and me after all options are discussed.
During my fellowship, I trained under sports medicine leaders, including Doctors Marc Philippon, Tom Hackett, Peter Millett, Matt Provencher, Jon Godin, Armando Vidal and Leslie Vidal. I also learned advanced arthroscopic and reconstructive surgical techniques for the treatment of complex disorders of the knee, hip, and shoulder.
I helped care for professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA and Olympic teams in addition to treating collegiate, high school and recreational athletes. I served as the team physician for the U.S. Snowboard Cross Team and am currently involved in sports coverage with Minnesota State University athletics and local high schools.
I am proud to return to southern Minnesota, where I was born and raised. I played college football for the Golden Gusties at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. In my spare time, I enjoy being on the lake and being outdoors (hunting, fishing, alpine skiing) and spending time with my family.
