Otolaryngology (ENT)/Head and Neck Surgery in Menomonie
If you have concerns or symptoms affecting your hearing, speech, breathing or balance, we will work with you in treating and preventing injuries and/or further complications.
Otolaryngologists are physicians trained in the medical and surgical management and treatment of children and adults with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. They are commonly referred to as ENT physicians.
Specialists provide consultation, diagnosis and treatment for ear, nose and throat conditions at our clinics in Eau Claire, Menomonie and Rice Lake.
Conditions and treatments
These are a few of the conditions treated by our ENT specialists:
Cochlear implant — Surgical placement of an electronic device to improve hearing for people who have severe hearing loss from inner-ear damage and do not hear well with hearing aids.
Facial plastic and reconstructive surgery — Cosmetic, functional and reconstructive surgical treatment of abnormalities of the face, neck and ear. Conditions treated include deviated septum and rhinoplasty (nose).
Head and neck — Conditions treated include cancerous and noncancerous tumors in the head and neck, including the nose/sinuses, mouth, throat, voice box and upper esophagus.
Laryngology (disorders of the throat) — Conditions treated include sore throat, hoarseness, swallowing disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), infections and tumors.
Otology/Neurotology (diseases of the ear) — Conditions treated include trauma (injury), infection, benign tumors and nerve pathway disorders affecting hearing and balance, swimmer’s ear, hearing loss, ear, face and neck pain, dizziness and ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
Pediatric otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat diseases in children) — Conditions treated include birth defects of the head and neck and developmental delays, ear infection (otitis media), tonsillitis and adenoid infection, airway problems, asthma, allergy/sinus problems and neck tumors.
Rhinology (disorders of the nose and sinuses) — Conditions treated include chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps.
Sleep surgery — Surgical treatment for sleep apnea. Upper airway stimulation therapy is an alternative surgical treatment option for patients with obstructive sleep apnea who have difficulty with continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP, therapy.
