Why Choose Us?
The right neurosurgery care, the first time. Our Spine & Neurological Surgery team in Eau Claire offers comprehensive care for people with a wide range of conditions affecting their spine and nervous system, including:
- Patient-focused care
Our team is guided by Mayo Clinic’s primary value: The needs of the patient come first. We place your needs above all else and will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan just right for you. - Surgical experience
The team provides a wide breath of surgical expertise, including everything from minimally invasive spine surgery to complex cranial surgery. Our surgical team has performed thousands of surgeries, approximately three times more each year compared with other programs in the region. We’re proud to say we are the most experienced and trained neurosurgical team in northwest Wisconsin. - Team-based care
In a successful team, each member plays a critical role and makes the team stronger. You are the center of our team in the Spine & Neurological Surgery Department in Eau Claire. We want to get to know you and learn about your goals. Other team members include a surgeon, nurse practitioner, nurse, scheduling staff and your primary care provider. A nurse practitioner and surgeon are paired together, and they will review your case together. This helps you get an appointment and answers to your questions quicker. If you are having surgery, you will see the same surgeon and nurse practitioner in the clinic and the operating room on the day of your surgery. This will lower the chances of unnecessary testing and potential for medical errors. Seeing familiar faces may ease any fears or confusion you have, as well. Your primary care provider is an important part of your team. He or she will be notified of your treatment plan, follow your progress in our electronic health record and be ready to manage your health care after your surgery. - Patient above pay
Mayo Clinic Health System uses a salary-based pay model for our surgeons. This means they do not receive more pay for performing more surgeries. This removes any conflict of interest or incentive to talk you into surgery that may not be right for you or perform more surgery than you need. Our primary goal will always be focused on developing the right treatment plan to meet your individual needs. - Blue Distinction Center
We are proud to be recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center for spine procedures. This national designation program recognizes our commitment to providing safe,high-quality patient care that leads to excellent results. It is an honor and privilege to be the only hospital in northwest Wisconsin to receive this designation.
