Several residency programs are offered in Eau Claire, including Clinical Pastoral Education Residency, Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency, Nurse Residency Program and Post-graduate Year One Pharmacy Residency.
Clinical Pastoral Education Residency Program
Note: The program will not be offered for the 2022–2023 academic year. Watch for more information when it resumes in fall 2023.
The Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire Hospital CPE Program has a history extending over 40 years. This one-year residency provides residents of all religious and spiritual backgrounds with an experience-based theological education, distinguished by excellence in multiple medical specialties and interdisciplinary teamwork in the state-of-the-art Mayo Clinic facilities.
Accredited by the ACPE in Level I/II CPE, this relational, experiential, transformational educational process trains future spiritual care leaders in the areas of pastoral formation, competence and reflection, with an emphasis on integrating one’s life experience with ones understanding of spiritual care.
Residents work alongside board-certified chaplains learning the art and best practices of spiritual care. The depth of our training empowers residents to realize their full potential to emotionally support, help alleviate suffering and spiritually strengthen those in their care, as well as themselves.
Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program
Mayo Clinic in Health System in Eau Claire offers a three-year residency program to train the next generation of outstanding primary care physicians to practice full-spectrum family medicine. Resident physicians work alongside faculty to deliver care in state-of-the-art Mayo Clinic facilities in a way that prepares them to become a physician leader. The program's three core teaching principles are guidance, growth and trust.
Whether the teaching takes place in the clinic or hospital, faculty members guide residents in the art and science of medicine, equip and challenge them to grow, and trust them to continually strive to improve care, health and life.

Nurse Residency Program
Mayo Clinic Health System in Northwest Wisconsin offers a year-long nursing education program that provides additional opportunities for newly licensed nurses to develop leadership skills and receive support during the transition from student nurse to competent professional nurse.
Participation in the Nurse Residency Program is an investment in yourself and your future as a nurse leader at Mayo Clinic.

All newly-graduated nurses employed at Mayo Clinic Health System in Northwest Wisconsin receive a comprehensive orientation that prepares them for practicing in their nursing specialty environment. The Nurse Residency Program is a rigorous training program that will help you build your leadership and professional skills as well as provide supplemental transition support during the first year of your career. The program is based on the standards set by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) for RN residencies.
Postgraduate Year One Pharmacy Residency
After completing the 12-month PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, you will be a proficient, independent general practitioner capable of providing broad pharmacotherapy knowledge to a multitude of patient populations.
The purpose of the pharmacy residency is to build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists who are responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions and eligible for board certification and postgraduate year two (PGY-2) pharmacy residency training.
